First Day Of School

The kids are set and excited to go!  

First day of school, here come the Granat Girls!!

First up, First day of school for our first grader!

Waiting for the bus to come.  

There is nothing cooler than being at the bus stop with your mom!

Day one done!

Her report: 

School was good, her teacher is good, lunch was good and the note of encouragement she found in her lunch almost made her cry.  Day two I sent a joke in her lunch instead.

Next up is our little Leighton. 

It seem's so wrong to send our little girl to school already, she is still our baby girl.  

Her photo shoot shows off her personality so well!

She started preschool this year and qualified for the district preschool so that she can get some assistance with speech, sensory and socialization.  What does this mean?  We are not entirely sure either but we have been so happy with her progress so far.  It also means that she is going to school four days a week.  It seems like way too much for my little three year old bunny but she seems to be doing just fine.  The school bus comes right to our house to pick her up and drop her off.  There is a driver and an aide on the bus that assist Lei putting on her seat belt.  The first day of school she ran to the bus and then froze at the stairs.  She liked the idea of the bus but did not want to get on the bus.  I could hear her crying as the bus rounded the corner so I drove to the school to secretly watch how she did getting off the bus.  She hopped off the bus with a smile on her face and she happily ran into the school ahead of her classmate.  I felt very content that she was fine.  For the first two weeks of school it was much the same.  Happy waiting and watching for the bus but then she would have a melt down getting on the bus.  I finally had a talk with her about how we need to have a happy face on the bus and no crying.  That day she hesitantly climbed onto the bus with a forced smile and a slight whimper.  But she did it, and she has not had a problem since.

And finally Lexi gets to go to school.  

Complaining that the sun is in her eye's during her photo shoot, Lexi is very excited for school at Miss Kris's preschool.  Only two days a week but she gets to go and car pool with her cousin B.

Three kids in school and one that won't take a nap.  

It's going to be a new kind of adventure for the GranFam.
