We already talked about mishap number 1, Lexi's smashed thumb. I am happy to report that it is healing very well and the ridge that started at the base of her nail has now moved progressively to the top of the the nail from the healthy new nail growing behind it. In a week it will be gone.
Mishap #2 Austin tumbles down the stairs. The staircase he chose to do this on had hardwood at the bottom and unfortunately the hardwood won. I took him to the doctor who said he was find, just a nasty looking goose egg. A few weeks later Austin learned how to go both up and down the stairs and is now flying down them the correct way!
Mishap #3 The Dryer and the Three Year Olds. Yes, it is pretty self explanatory, but Lexi and Lei opened the dryer mid cycle and decided to climb in. Leighton was in first and Lexi was right behind her, however the dryer was hot and Lei's face was pinned against the heat element. Ouch. Again, I took her in, we got some medicine for it and kept it covered for about a week. It healed great, no sign of a burn at all.
Mishap #4 The stitches. While on our Grand Adventure, Lexi had a little mishap from tripping on her own feet and colliding with a rocking chair, resulting in four stitches. The biggest challenge here was the fact that we were in Canada and our insurance does not really translate well in other countries. $840 for an emergency room visit and four stitches. Needless to say, I will be looking into some kind of traveler's insurance before our next trip.
Mishap #5 The Black Eye. Another Lexi and Leighton mishap where Leighton got the short hand of the stick, in this case it was a rock. Long story short, Lexi threw the rock at Leighton resulting in a black eye. These things heal but when they happen all within a few weeks of each other it can be very exhausting for one Mommy. The best part of these pics (if there is a silver lining to be found) is you can see how nice Lei's burns were healing!
Yet the only thing we can do is keep smiling despite of our mishaps!
Kid's will be kids, and Mom will just have to stay on her toes!

Yikes! So glad all are healing well.
Hopefully it will be a much more accident free fall and winter. Good grief. Glad you can still smile about it. Kids will be kids...
