The Grand American Summer Vacation: Part 1

This summer we decided to take the kiddlets on a Grand American Adventure to Mt. Rushmore and it's surrounding area.  According to Google Map our trip covered 1,381 miles of this beautiful country to see, which we broke up into several different parts.
Google Map, however, did not include the road construction, the diaper explosion delays, the road closure due to a bee truck tipping over, or the number of people who looked shocked that we would travel with our young kids.

Phase 1:  Our American kick off, celebrating the Fourth of July weekend.

Hanging with friends at the splash park!  The kids loved playing and splashing. A great way to cool off in the summer heat.

Followed that up with carousel rides and fruit smoothies.

Then the big day arrived for the Fourth of July Parade and fireworks!
