Busy Little Bodies

Another day at our neighborhood hill.  One may ask if we are taking advantage of the sledding because of

1)it's proxcimity to our front door (approximately 100 yards) or 

2)because it is cheap entertainment or

3)because we have such few days of nice weather during the winter. 

Regardless, we are back at the hill with the kiddos.  If you get snow then go sledding, right?!

It's obvious that mommy doesn't make it to the hill all the time as daddy let Lexi go for a solo ride.  (did I mention that this is a short hill?)

Yup, Mommy is definitely not aware of all of daddy's antics on the hill.

Back in the house means one thing.  Lexi getting into everything- literally!  She's a think inside the box kind of gal.  Lexi changes so much on a daily basis, she is repeating words that you tell her and what she can't say does not stop her from communicating her wants and needs.  She is pretty good at coming over and patting you on the leg and motioning for what she wants.  She understands so much, often during diaper changes I will ask her where's Lexi's hair, ears, nose, etc. and she points them all out.  Lexi is also very observant (of mostly Addi) and she copies everything.  Addi jumps on the bed, Lexi trys.  Addi runs and hides, Lexi runs and hides (usually when she has taken mommy's cell phone, she also learned to be sneaky from Addi).  Lexi wants to be a big girl so much and thinks she is the same age as Addi.  It's fun to watch them interact, They were painting the other day together until Lexi ate the end of her paint brush.  Lexi is also sweet to her baby sister and will pat Lei on the head and will pretend to read Lei books.  She is a great middle sister.  We are on a count down to nursery.  Lexi will go into nursury at the end of this month (Lei will also go into nursery this year in december).  I don't think she will have any problem transitioning, she is quite independant and social.  She loves action songs and reading books.  It's hard to see her grow up so fast.

Addi is getting bigger too!  A quick trip to the doctors (nothing serious) had her standing on the scale weighing in at 32 lbs.  But that doesn't stop this light weight from thinking she is big enough.  Addi also loves to come up with BIG words like incredible and extraordinary.  Her new favorite word is "clever".  Addi also love to make up elaborate stories, her latest was that she was a fairy that could do magic.  Her hands contained "sparkles" that were magic and each finger did something ie. one finger made rainbows, another one made unicorns, one of course was make-up, another one made things grow, etc.  Addi has also learned how to write her own name, it's really cute, I should take a picture.  The s is backwards so it looks like a z and the n is sometimes a m but she is really getting the hang of it.

Leighton, our little wiggly worm has learned how to pull herself up at 8 months.  We know she is just trying to keep up with her sisters but we are just not used to having such a mobile baby.  Lei has figured ot her arms and legs for crawling and is no longer doing her inch worm.  She is quick too and loves to follow her sisters all over the house.  Lei has also started eatting baby food.  She did not love the rice cereal but she seems to like all the vaggies and fruit. The best word that describes Lei is endearing.  She is so smiley that we have strangers constantly approching us and commenting on her smile. 

I laughed when someone called me the other day and commented that I must be feeding my kids fertilizer because they are just growing so fast.  Yup, that must be the case. 

Lei surprised us all again when we discovered an incisor has cut this week.  This funny little smile has two center bottom teeth and one top incisor poking through.  Hope the other teeth come soon!

With these busy bodies there is always something new!
