We have had some much fun this week that we had to break up this blog into two parts!
We celebrated a wonderful weekend with family and friends as we had our sweet baby Leighton blessed on the 4th of July.
Lei is a month old and at her doctor appointment she weighed 9lbs 6oz. She is a very sweet little girl who loves to smile. She is just like Mommy and likes to sleep in the mornings, but other than that she is all Daddy. She is such a sweet mannered little girl and we are so blessed to have her in our home.
Lexi is now 9 months old and at her doctor appointment she weighted 17lbs and is 26 inches long (the 50% for both). She is still stationary but she pushes up on to her hands and knees all the time and scoots around in a circle on her stomach. We know that crawling is in her near future. Lexi also is getting more and more demanding when it comes to food, she wants what we are having but if we give her a taste she always has the same reaction no matter what we give her, she make a sour face as if we had just given her a lemon.
Addi is busy with her new found freedom while Mommy is busy with one or the other babe. She enjoys going through Mom's jewelry or make-up, coloring on the walls, helping her self to food in the fridge, has taken and applied half a bottle of sun screen to her head, etc. On the flip side she can be very helpful as well. We call her the super sister. She puts pacifiers back in mouths, runs to fetch diapers, sings songs and plays with Lexi, she has even tried to insist that she can feed Lei and has even argued that she also has nipples.
We had a lot of fun celebrating the 4th of July. Lexi was given the cutest patriotic little dress when she was born so Mommy asked Grandma if she could copy it and make two others dresses for the girls. Grandma did such an amazing job and we could not believe it when we found the exact same material! You could say it was a 4th of July miracle!
This is what it's like trying to get all three girls together to take a picture.
The girls loved the parade, Addi would dance to the music from each float and Lexi just wanted to eat her American flag. Our parade weather was a little cool, a welcome change to most years especially with these little fair headed babes. BBQ, fireworks and family- what else could anyone ask for on the fourth of July. We have an amazing firework show over the river but all three of our kids had exhausted themselves on fun and only Addi woke up half way through the show to enjoy the spectacular display.
From the GranFam house we want to thank all the men and women who have and still are protecting our freedoms. We hope you all had a wonderful Independence day!
