September means...

The begining of September always means the same thing around here...

Starting a new family scheduale and getting use to it!
(and WHOA what a schedule it is this year!)

September means.... mornings with Mom before kindergarten.

Lexi makes the most of this time using her curious and creative skills.
Her favorite is coloring pictures to adorn the house.

And herself.

Lexi and her robot (and the entire roll of tape).
This is what Lexi does when Mom is exercising and she unsupervised.

Lunch with her robot.

Austin also likes to keep busy during the morning.

He also likes to draw and color.
He proudly displays a picture of his favorite person- MOMMY!
(super attractive, I especially love my mono brow)

Austin and his "Nay-Nay" (aka Leighton).

Lunch is served!

Right after lunch its off to school for Lexi And Leighton AND Mommy AND Austin.
September means... waiting at the bus stop

And then waiting again for the kids to get home.
Austin decides to get as comfortable as one can waiting on a sidewalk.

September means... After school selfies.

September means... dance class for Leighton.
(standing in the center in purple)

September means...
making a little money.  Austin earned a little cash by being 'boy who throws fit when he misses his his shot' for and BIG HOLE FAMILY GOLF commercial this summer that aired locally. He played the role well, though he did have some behind the scene help from Mom!  Austin was to hit the ball, then throw a raging fit when it does not go in.  Austin, however, being a very clever boy, thought he could just drag the ball with the club to the hole to ensure it would go in.  Mommy had to tell him that he couldn't drag the ball, he had to hit the ball.  So he did, and the ball went in (of course).  So Mommy told him to hit the ball Harder!  He did, missed, and then ran and picked up the ball.  This is when we brought out the big guns- Starburst candy.  Mommy told Austin to hit the ball hard and she would give him a piece of candy.  Austin hit the ball and missed.  Mom popped candy into her own mouth. Complete Tantrum!  Repeated the process three more times, promising Austin the candy each time, and each time Mommy ate the candy when he misses.  Austin threw the biggest tantrum including picking up the ball and throwing it at Mommy.
A nice little check and a whole pack of starburst later seemed to smooth over the whole ordeal!

September means...
Family bike rides!
As enjoyable as they are, why is it that at least one kid need to go potty while we are out?

Austin has graduated to the balance bike, and has mastered it!  This boy can keep up even with no pedals!

Addi enjoys a different kind of bike experience and asks a neighbor for a ride!

September means...
another Bear World season is coming to a close.

September means...

Exploring.

Both outdoors and indoors.

Lexi is the only one who would
find a tumble weed to play with.

She is also the only one who would be caught "trying on" new things.
Her explanation:
"I just wanted to see how it looked" she says.

September means...
Eye Exams!
We love our eye doctor and love her customer appreciation day!

September means...
Apples!
And this little boy helps him self constantly, which Mommy doesn't complain about cuz at least its a health choice.

September means...
This little guy had to visit the Emergent Care late one night for a dislocated elbow.

September means...
Lots of Laundry.
Blue wax crayon meets its unfortunate fate in the dryer with a full load of laundry.

September means...
Trip to Boise for our friend Saylor's Baptism.

Random sign on the the way.
Alligators? We are stiil in Idaho right?

September means...
Falling asleep at the kids bedtime when you meant to only lay down with them for 5 minutes.

September means...
Soccer.
Four days a week including every Saturday.
Only Addison and Lexi played soccer this year,
Leighton wanted to wear a jersey in a supportive roll
and Austin wanted to wear a jersey because he wanted to play on the soccer team but was not old enough.

Lexi was a 'go get-em' type soccer player this year.  Her games were very enjoyable to watch as she didn't shy away from the ball.

Addi was the opposite.
She wants to play soccer if that means she can sit on the sidelines and never have the ball come near her.  Game after game Addi would "watch" the ball but never make any attempt to chase after the ball and NEVER EVER would she EVER kick the ball!!
(she she thought we were the crazy parent on the side lines yelling "Go" "Kick it" "Run")

And that's what September meant this year!
