Thankfulness

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving day, and had a little more wobble wobble after they gobbled gobbled!  As I reflected this last week over my family and my many blessings, I am reminded that I have so much to be thankful for.

Will walk for pumpkin pie!

Lexi, upon seeing that her daddy was sitting eatting pumpkin pie, jumped to her feet and took two steps with her mouth wide open in daddy's direction.  It was almost like she was so excited that she forgot she couldn't walk, she was just so excited that she jumped up and went after what she wanted.

Christmas tree before or after Thanksgiving?

Addi opted for before.  I tried to delay it by telling her that we couldn't put up the tree because daddy was at work and we needed his help.  Sure enough, when Addi heard the garage door open she was at the back door telling daddy to get the Christmas tree.  I was able to get in two more days before Addi insited that we decorate the tree. 
The next morning went as follows.  Lexi take an ornament off the tree, holds it up to show me and says "No,no!".  Addi takes the ornament away from Lexi and puts it back on the tree.  Repeat.  That night I moved all ornaments to the top half of tree, leaving the bottom bare.  Our tree looks a little odd, however,  Grandma came to our rescue with the idea to hang stripes of curling ribbon on the bottom of the tree and everyone's happy.  Both Addi and Lexi love to take the curly que ribbons on and off.  Tree still looks funny but now it's kid friendly.

Addi's thankful thoughts.

One of our Thanksgiving traditions is to go around the table and say what we are thankful for.  This year Addi was thankful for her cousins, whom she got to play with for three whole consecutive days.  Her favorite activity?  Going down stairs in the basement with the lights off and telling ghost stories! (a very Thanksgiving activity!?!)

Thankful for Family.

As most of you know, our family has grown at a fast pace (I know, the understatement of the year).  But our family wouldn't be if it weren't for the love of two young ladies that we consider our familys' Angels.  We are so grateful to them for their courage and faith.  They made our dreams of being a familiy a reality.  We are thankful that we were able to get to know both of our Angels and we want them to know how much we love them.

We are thankful for the adoption process.  For the people we have met through this process, for the lessons about love and understanding that we have learned but especially for the immediate and extended family that we have gained.  November is Adoption appreciation month, and we have been to several Family Supporting Adoption events.  We rejoice in the adoption successes and it gives us hope for all of those who are still waiting to be blessed by an adoption.  We have had incrediable support during our adoption processes that we would love to do our part in helping someone else make an adoption connection.  If you know of anyone considering adoption please let us know so we can help connect them with the right couple.

Our Blog Family

I feel like this is my oscar speach but I want to thank all of our "fans".  For each of you that take time to look at our blog and follow our familys' updates and activities.  When we started this blog we had no idea so many people would be reading it!  We feel so blessed to have so many friends and family (and friends of family) care about our familly and view our blog.  As they say "if you build it, they will come"  well this is the reverse, "as long as people are reading and enjoying, we will write"!
